Hi, :)

I have a Tascam 34 which I picked up for a ridiculous price, and which works beautifully.

It is, of course a 7.5 / 15 ips machine, and I was wondering if it can be modified in some way to play 3.75 ips tapes, of which I have dozens I would like to put on CD.

The original 3.75 ips recorder is no longer available, unfortunately, and I don't want to have to buy another one.

Anybody know if this can be done?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

it would be cheaper to go on ebay and buy a machine that is capable of 3 3/4 ips speed than it would be to modify this one.

Too bad you're in Australia. I'd buy that puppy from you, 'cause I need a good 7.5 ips 4-track.

But I'm in Texas, where everybody should be.

Solved the problem! Play at 7.5ips, recording in Audacity, then use Audacity to halve the speed!

Works like a charm! :)
