Recording Cdr's

When I record Cdr's should I record at the slowest speed to get the most information or does it matter? Just seems like there would be fewer errors at slower speeds. I have no idea.Or is digital able to stay erreor free at any speed?

casouza Audiophile Posts: 485 Joined: March 18, 2008	I suggest that you record two identical CDRs one at high speed and one at low speed, then listen. Most CD burning software suppliers recommend low speed for maximum quality (meaning less write errors). Write errors are not material for data CDs, but can make a CD player's laser and error-correction circuit work overtime. This will certainly generate jitter and jitter related digititis.

Tweekeng Audiophile Posts: 781 Joined: September 9, 2005	A cd hold 680K (more of you "overburn" it), speed does not effect capacity. Personally I hear no difference in Audio CD's burned at 40x or 1x. So I figure why waste the time?
