Just picked up a pair of these last night. They seems to go well with my EL34 based tube amplifier. Sweet mid range, clear highs, and powerful well controlled bass that my tube amp would never produce without the help of those built in 80 wall SS amps. Its like bi-amping my speakers, but I only have to connect one amp and they sound surprisingly well balanced. Not a lot of info out there about mods, restoration on these. The "tube sock" grill cloth is a little worn, but I don't see anyone selling replacements. How long will those internal amplifiers hold on before needing a recap? The crossovers? These things could be close to 20 years old.
