Hi Inmates, been a while, separated from the wife, but a single parent I am and still love my HiFi. But I don't love my room! Got my 12 year old girl living with me in a rented house and it has the most ridiculous lounge shape. I got 12 walls and 2 ceilings with 2 and a half doors oh and 2 windows!!! Ha, basically I got a piece of kitchen that sticks out into the lounge, a cupboard under the stairs with half a door and sloping ceiling, a bit of hallway which sticks out like the ceiling a big box section for pipes a narrow window in one wall and a wide one on the end wall opposite the kitchen door. With horrible wood flooring, no carpet, oh and that's not floorboards but that slot together decking thin stuff!
My stuff is at the wife's, and she's hostile, so my dear mum has at last, loaned me bits of her Technics stack. I got their SU 5A amplifier and SB-F44 bookshelf reflex loudspeakers and my Ubuntu based PC with a 24bit 96khz card plays my FLAC files and I have a Peerless 12" unit, ( can't remember its code), stuck in a 40 litre box with a hefty car amp driving it, said amp running off of an old ATX power supply out of an old PC. A crude setup, none the less, but I'm sat here in the middle of this room and I'm thinking, how can I make the most of this room?
Where do I stick the system?, Where should the speakers go? I like watching movie on my PC so that's got to go in between speakers? Sub must go between speakers, too.
My longest wall is shared with next door, and the kind lady is a Mid Wife, her sleep is important, sometimes she sleeps in the day. Opposite the long wall is the staircase, the lounge door and box section, in the corner, the other end of that wall has a window. Facing the longest wall to the left is the main window, to the right is the section of Kitchen in the corner and kitchen door mid wall. Its not open plan. Not sure what else to say, where would you start?
Please! and Thank you! :)

It's in the pull-down menu but here's the link.
Lot's of info in Speaker's, Tweaks/DIY and, well...
elsewhere around this joint as well.

Good luck getting your room together!

How would one navigate to it without the link you provided?

Never mind, I found the "Drop-Down" you were talking about.

Hmmm... It shows up on my main aa dot com page, over to the right and down a bit, in the section "Sponsored Forums". No drop-down. Might be "view" related.

The Tweakers' Asylum has many posts about room treatments, and I recently posted one with links to many of my posts for DIY room treatments, see:
