Anyone has the old AN-E SP ?

I was reading this website http://www.mostlyaudio.com/Spk03_Wadding.html
It says that "Audio Note's philosophy is to use a minimum of wadding in their cabinets and not to attach the wadding - it should simply be formed inside the cabinets in such a way that it will remain in place."

But when i opened my AN-E SP, there was lots of wadding inside, so much so that almost 70%-80% of the cabinet was filled with it. Is this normal or someone has changed the wadding inside my AN-E ?

Thanks for the help.

Why are you mucking around inside your speakers?

Most fiber-fill materials are pretty light and fluffy. Acousti-stuf, generic pillow stuffing, and others could easily "fill" 80% or more of the cabinet volume (and stay in place) without being compressed, and hence be considered a "minimum amount." Trouble is, a minimum amount will have minimum effect in alleviating internal reflections and standing waves.

The picture in this link shows how much wadding is in each speaker.

Thanks RGA, I have seen the website and the photos. Understand that the wadding are supposed to be close to the sides of the cabinet but mine is one whole lump filling up the cabinet.

Maybe audio note has refined the design over the years. That's why I wanted to ask AN-E SP owners how is the wadding like in their speakers, whether it's like what's shown in the website you provided or otherwise.

Thanks
