of nOrh speakers from Thailand, which come - or came - variously in wood, marble, synthetic marble and ceramics. It's always good to see more non-boxy speakers out there. Hope they sound good, too.

...can't be all bad. The products shown certainly are unique if nothing else.

We discovered kale this year (well, I did, anyway... Mrs. H's taste in vegetables has always been more catholic than mine). We were given some little kale plants for our garden. They grow really well here in MA (as it turns out).

We cook kale thus: Cook a piece or two of bacon in a large frying pan; drain off excess fat and saute the kale with some garlic scapes. Crumble up the bacon, mix in and serve. It is nommy.

all the best,
mrh

Mrh, no decorative kale in suburban Clifton, New Jersey is safe with me prowling the neighborhood. Once I have washed off the pet effluvium and Scotts Turf Builder and gotten it in the pot, the heat transforms its Technicolor hues into the familiar dusty blue-green of the more common edible varieties, erasing all evidence of my crime. (Remember the Hitchcock episode where the wife cheerfully feeds the investigating police the frozen leg of lamb she used to cudgel her husband to death?)

As a child standing beside my Spanish granny, I watched, mouth watering, while she cooked kale with white beans, which she flavored with chorizo. Now that I have entered my own dotage and no longer eat animals, I make a meatless version that tastes even better than grandma’s. It is certainly better for my coronary arteries, and a big improvement for the pig's.

But until somebody starts making speaker cones out of kale, I will not take up the Forum’s valuable bandwidth with food talk. However, anyone desiring a recipe is invited to contact me offline.
