Have any owners of Vandersteen 2Ce Signature speakers with their Sound Anchor stands replaced the supplied Sound Anchor spikes for better ones? If you have, please post your findings with information like the spike size, supplier etc. How about the bolts between speaker and stand? I tried to use some Herbie's products but with no success.
Thanks in advance.

Charles Hansen used Avalon spikes when he ran 3A sigs in the Ayre listening room (see link). I may try these myself some day, though I'm not sure how you get them. I'm getting my 2ce Sig IIs pretty well dialed in - I just added bi-wired Ayre cables which seem to have substantially reduced a slightly veiled quality on vocals - but am willing to try new tweaks.

Charles-I know Vandersteen as well as Thiel match well with your gear.
Can you recommend which is a better match with the AX 7e - the Vandy 2CE Sig 2 or Thiel 1.6?
Thanks

I have filled the stock stands with lead shot, check to see if bolts are tight (they can loosen) but do not over tighten as per instructions.
I have also made lead shot bags long and narrow to fit on the top plate. This was the most dramatic of the things that I have done. I am lucky I am on a solid carpet covered concrete floor. I have a low ceiling and plan some acoustic panels for the first reflection point.
So it goes.........

How low is your ceiling? I have 1Cs in a room with 6' (!) ceilings. I put some acoustic foam on the first reflection points on the ceiling, but I don't think it made a big difference.
