I ended up getting most of my money back via charge back on a credit card. The rest of it I got back by selling what little value he actually sent. I told him I would send the crap back to him if he paid for shipping, but he never did and, after a year of holding on to it, got it all out of my house.

If you want to know more about him, get the book "Inklings" by Jeff Koterba (his brother). I'll trade it to you for a couple of tubes(:

Anyway, he has been pulling two basic types of scams for years - (1) buy something, pull out the good stuff then claim the lot was misdescribed or damaged; and (2) bait and switch on the selling side.

He is a two-bit punk, and I am surprised he has not found jail time yet.

Couple of examples.

He moved from his Omaha (NE) home out to the West Coast to promote his 8-year-old son's singing career. He did actually get him onto the court to sing at halftime of a Laker's game about 2 years ago, but it probably went downhill from there.

During the active part of our dispute, he would call and pose as a "bad brother" from Compton who was going to come out to the East Coast, break into my house to get his "friend's" tubes back, and rape my wife and daughters in the process (I think I still have a recording of that message). Being that one of my neighbors is the county sheriff, she got one of her deputies to look into it and, of course, it all traced back to Art Koterba. Unfortunately, the sheriff's department here wasn't willing to help further unless the guy actually showed up in this county, which he would never do (apparently he can barely walk at this point due to diabetes).
