Riding on the enthusiastic reception for the new OPPO Blu Ray player, CHT offers numerous mods. Amoung them is a mod for SDI output.

Last July I paid for this and other mods but when the OPPO arrived the SDI mod was missing. When I contacted him I got this reply Auygust 24:

"John, I will be refunding the HD-SDI portion of those orders we have, the HD-SDI output will not work properly on the Oppo and I would be almost certain to say that it will never happen

once again this is something that we got screwed on by our supplier of some items we use for our players and in the end you the customer gets the raw end

I will be sending over a full refund for the HD-SDI mod in a few days, thanks for your patience with that and enjoy the player, I apologize for this"

Weeks past and there was no sign of the refund and emails were unanswered so I threatened to post my experience all over the net. That did get some action and the cheque was promised to be posted last Saturday. In fact it was not sent until Tuesday and only arrived at my son's place (in the neighbouring State) today. This makes it a full month since he promised to send it.

But more serious, and the point of this post, is that he is still advertising that SDI mod when he has known for some time he will not be doing it. To me it is fraudulent and I felt AA inmates should be warned.

Sorry to hear about this. The internet is a powerful tool for good and bad. Much of what is said on web sites carries a risk. It's easy to put stuff on-line which is not truthful.
