FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Machina Dynamica Inc Receives 2009 Best of Falls Church Award

U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- Machina Dynamica Inc has been selected for the 2009 Best of Falls Church Award in the Television, & Electronic Stores Radio category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

About U.S. Commerce Association (USCA)

Did the category your company won in have anything to do with selling menupause medication by any chance?

All That Glitters? US Commerce Association Awards to Biz May Not Be What They Seem
As the press release posted as a warning to small businesses by the Better Business Bureau (to which this post is linked) makes clear, the USCA is running a scam meant to screw unsuspecting businesses.
It started sending out unsolicited emails to businesses during the first week of July, this year.
These emails are an attempt to phish for financial info, receive money paid to them to obtain the optional "Best of" plaque (vanity award), and god only knows what else.
However, it is not easy for the small business owner to discover this. Just ask the BBB.
It, the USCA (US Chamber of Commerce Association), really does exist in some form. And they are slick.
But, Geoff's not "punking" anyone.
He's the one who got punked.
Actually, the awards are real, in a sense.
It's just that they're meaningless.
Geoff's "press release" was posted July 8th. Just one day after the BBB article appeared on its website.
I doubt Geoff visits that site on a regular basis. But, who does?
Still, he really did receive an unsolicited award-- of a sort-- for which he did not pay.
So, he isn't telling any lies when he says he was awarded one.
And saying he received that award on his website is smart marketing, albeit a bit misleading.
Ironically, he's making money (?) off an attempt to rip him off.
I say, well done Geoff!

I was "selected" as a "High School Who's Who" awards publications. IIRC, it cost me $99. But in my defense, I was 16 years old and didn't brag about it, especially once I realized I was scammed.

Please say you didn't sell your body Geoff. No phony-reward plaque, no matter how sumptuously bedecked with faux golden filigree, is worth a man losing what's most important-his reputation, and self respect.

And don't forget, this entire thread came about when your very, very close buddy started crowing about your fabulous new award. Reap what you sow my man.

What's so wrong with receiving an award? The award is free - I got one I didn't have to pay for it. The plaque is not free - yet I did not order one. Hel-looo! Do you have a learning disability?

bestow that "award" on anyone who asks, and will then sell them a plaque to commemorate this prestigious prize. And your head swelled with such pride that you had your boy WF waddle over to the keyboard and announce the glad tidings on AA. Doesn't that pretty well sum it up?

Congratulations-another MD business coup.

Are you daft? I did not ask for the award, I did not announce it and I did not order a plaque. For some bizarre reason (who knows with you little scamps) you simply cannot accept the fact I won the award, which I won fair and square. Furthermore, the award *was* competitive, they don't give them to just anyone. Only to outstanding small businesses. If you don't like it, lump it.

You did not 'win' anything. To continue to make that claim just piles the horse shit on top of the bull shit. But then, how could we expect truth from the owner of a business built on the foundation of BS?

In case you missed it, the announcement in the initial post contains the following:

"The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Winning means there's a loser. In this case, it's you. There's no loser apart from those who pay or claim to have "won" something, or those consumers influenced by such idiocy.

Who did you beat? They give them to whomever! If I call and ask they'll probably say "we need to review your business", then call me back next day and say "You're a winner!" and offer to send me a plaque.

Pathetic that you attempt to defend the indefensible, but then, you're the lowlife selling phone calls.

You're apparently too stupid to get it. I did not contact the org who gave the award. I did not pay for the award. I did not pay for a plaque, nor did I receive one. If you took the time to read the award announcement, which apparently you did not, you would realize the award is given to small businesses which the org finds worthy of such, according to their criteria. You're just too big a blowhard to give me credit for winning.

That's not winning. By your definition, if I send you an email saying "You won the biggest asshole in the world award", that means you're the biggest asshole in the world!

More truthful than your silly award, but still bullshit.

I'm fairly certain there's a reason for your continuing hostility and stupidity, but I personally don't have the time or inclination to take your case right now but check back next week.

As I told you at least twice before, the award announcement explains how the winners are selected. You should notice that quite a few small, innovative and diverse companies will pop up if you search for USCA Award. I imagine the criteria for winning the award are superior marketing, product innovation and imagination. But hey, that's just me.

"Did I get ripped off", you ask?
Of course not. Not when you consider the award's unique proprietary design that makes use of the quantum resonances generated by the non-fluidic nature of the electrons that are "trapped" within the kinetics of the plaque's solid-state molecular structure.
That's what makes it glitter.

I will say, it does seem fitting that 'Machina Dynamica' should win pay for a phony 'award', which in reality is a PR scam. Seems oddly appropriate. I'm sure that certificate will look nice on Geoff Kaitt's wall.

Even before I saw your post, I was thinking "U.S. Commerce Association? Sounds pretty hokey and phoney."

My favorite exerpt for the article you linked:

"In a link provided in its email to Joshu, the U. S. Commerce Association provides a list of several hundred award winners from 2008. Among the winners were a discount driving school in Maryland, a tattoo removal clinic in California, a bagpipe player in Arizona and a “laser tag family fun center” in Louisiana. Other award winners were in categories such as “astrologers,” “disc jockeys,” “tanning salons,” and “artificial waterfalls.”"

But that's great. I have never known which artificial waterfall dealer to contact, let alone who to contact when on vacation in Scottsdale for live bagpiping.

Well done sir-again I say, well done!

Here we are once more, with WF, seemingly blindsided by actual logic, and in a sort of panicky scramble, resorting to his tried-and-true response of posting a giant graphic, totally irrelevant to the issue at hand, along with a 'hilarious' comment. Next up: some weirdly circular reasoning and ad hominen attacks, while failing to mention a word concerning his OP. I'll say this-you're nothing if not predictable. Carry on-more fun awaits.

There's certainly no evidence of any "unhappiness" in my posts-in fact, I noted that I was "laughing"-so this makes zero sense.

I guess this means we'll be seeing this through to it's inevitable conclusion. Continue, if you will, your march to infamy.

I'm sure Kait IS getting the last laugh. He's proof you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time. But you can make a fool of Wellfed anytime.
