Is there any written research or protocol for establishing ground on a 2 chassis amp with power supply on 1 chassis and the outputs on the 2nd chassis. I have the power transformer mounting bolt as the primary ground . This point establishes the ground bus. The ground bus goes to the umbilical connector whiich connects to the 2nd chassis. The ground bus is then reestablished on the output chassis.
So, i am wondering if it is necessary to ground the 2nd chassis. cheers, Dak

This article is just what i was looking for. I have read a lot about grounding but the knowledge has been piecemeal. Now i have it saved for future reference and cogitation. thanx a million. Dak

The Heatkit w4 is the same amp, essentially. I was trying to some w3 but it was hard to find enough good ones to make a set. The people selling them would inevitably break them up and sell it as seperates.

My W3s came with Acro TO-300 outputs and my W4s came with what I think are Chicago Transformers 54-29 - model # is correct but I can't remember the manufacturer.
The W3s are more extended in both lows and highs.
I re-purposed the W4s as 2A3PP amps which are better than either of the originals.

I did the same here. The "grounding network" of the signal chassis joint the power chassis ground via the umbilical cord. That it. No extra grounding on signal side chassis.
