 It seems that these are now starting to appear on sale as s/h.

Just wondering if anyone still uses them and what are the thoughts 3-4 years after the hype. Is it still the best 300b you can buy for money?

 I think they were a great value if you built the kit. The monos are no longer available but there is a new stereo version and a new mono design variation coming out in the future. Hit the link for more info.

I like kits and had built 300B variations from Audio Note and Welborne Labs. The LD WE91 have been my favorite until I completed my most recent project, the Lux. It's hard to provide a good comparison since I had to downsize my speakers when we moved to Costa Rica last year. My current speakers, Galante Rhapsody, are the weak link in my system, not that great. I prefer the Lux with these speakers but it's probably due to the higher power of the Lux. Most of the time I use current producion WE 300B output tubes. I think with better, more efficient speakers, I would still prefer the Lux. The LDs are still awesome amps. I have also built other kits from diyhifisupply and am always happy with their value, sound and excellent service. I wish they would offer their current headphone amp, Chazz 2, as a kit. I would buy it.

I see there are a pair on Audiogon for $1785. Obviously I can't compare all the options at this price but I can say with some confidence that you would have a hard time finding better overall performance at that price assuming you have the right speakers. A good deal.

BTW, for any of you pro sound guys, I recently completed some mic preamp kits from Seventh Circle Audio. Outstanding!

I am thinking of building them and would like some feedback to help my decision.
