I appreciate any help that readers can give to me. I very much need to sell my SET amps since I am moving out of the country for many years and do not wish to store them. I have a pair of Cary Audio 300B SE Signatures. I want to sell them in a manner that respects the interests of both parties while making sure I get the true value of them. I also want to minimize all risk in such a transaction. I fear opening up a whole bag of problems once they are shipped and out of my hands.

The only way I know to value these amps is to list them on Ebay and auction them off. I'm fine with that except I do not know how to minimize the risks with an unknown buyer. Can anyone recommend the best way to sell these amps? I think they are too specialized to list in Craigslist although I can do that for free and see what happens. There is a store nearby that buys used gear but that will reduce what I get for them.

Thanks for any help!

Still available? I just posted this wanted ad in A-gon not 10 minutes ago:

Looking for a nice pair of these in at least "8 +" condition, low hours. Prefer the painted chassis though a spotless chrome set would work too. Must have original packing for shipping to me in Tennessee. I do not need the 300B tubes, would like to negotiate price independently of 300B 's - but would consider buying the second set if we can come to an agreement. Lots of pics please and you must have a perfect A-gon feedback record - I do. I can pay with Paypal immediately

Give me a shoutback if you think I might be interested.

John

You can view completed sales on Ebay to discover what they've sold for previously. Simply enter a Search for the brand/model & then refine the search criteria of Returns via completed sales per left-side menu.

Good idea except Cary 300B's rarely sell on Ebay. Too bad for me!

Audiogon has a blue book you can access for a price and see what, posted on October 11, 2009 at 10:49:31

the Cary has sold for previously on that site.

I'd think at this point in time it would be the best and most accurate Audio gear blue book online.

Then you can figure out the price you want to sell yours for.

Decide what you want to sell them for and list 'em on AA Classifieds..., posted on October 9, 2009 at 22:12:41

it's free and maybe someone here who's advice you'd take may actually buy them!

The classifieds here work well, but on Audiogon they will probably sell quicker.

Good equipment, priced right, will sell in either place. It justs takes longer on AA.
