Recently pulled out CDs by the Blue Aeroplanes.
The superbly appropriately titled "Beatsongs" is just marvelous. Starts out solidly on tracks 1-3, but then really kicks into gear on "Fun , Cardboard Box , My Hurricane , Aeroplane Blue , Jack Leaves/Back Spring , Coloure Me , and Streamers". Fab stuff with dense arrangements of elect guitar, acoustic guitar , various misc instruments and largely spoken lyrics.
Blue Aeroplanes' "Life Model" is also excellent. Best of all, anyone interested can buy their stuff super cheap on e-Bay.
An overlooked band of high quality (late 80's, 90's).

Have you heard any of the Mott the Hoople reunion? I heard or read something about the band making a CD of one of the shows available.

Not yet, but I'm working getting the CD.
There are a number of videos on the web showing numbers from the show(s).
All just great. Bassist Overend Watts still has star power. Martin Chambers did a superb job filling in for Buffin. Great to see Verden again. IH and MR excellent as always.
But you're right, I gotta get my hands on a CD of it ASAP.
Also some rumblings about the possibility of a couple of USA dates.
