Certain singers, usually males, have voices that are not "pretty" But they are still able to get the emotion across....
Neil Young
Bob Dylan
Willie Nelson
Merle Haggard
All come to mind and all are able to lift my soul, make me think, make me cry, make me dance. I cannot think of any females that have voices like that. They all sound good to me....

I'm not sure Lu belongs in this group as her voice is rather an acquired taste.

No doubt those three's songs can certainly move you.

I remember hiking to Mount Robson in BC, when this song hit it big (1984 LA Olympics). With first wife-to-be. Man, did they overplay this puppy.

Later, converted it to guitar. Actually, has some nice little riffs, I still add to soloes, as fills... 8^)
