"Queen are set to release a series of duets that their former frontman Freddie Mercury recorded with Michael Jackson next year."

It's so incredibly wrong. Link below...

Freddie and Mr Jefferson could be sharing a nicely decorated one-bedroom flat somewhere in the afterlife. Not that there`s anything wrong with that.

well, at least the "Queen are" construction is acceptable in British English, posted on June 27, 2012 at 12:43:39

Otherwise, it sounds like one of the not so perfect future tenses necessitated by the development of time travel and occasionally invoked on the classic British sci-fi/sitcom "Red Dwarf".

all the best,

I think the grammatical error is in the "next year" part, posted on June 27, 2012 at 14:05:04

But then I don't know British English perfectly. Nor do I know "news-speak" well and it often puts words in strange-sounding order. But in this case if they had done news-speak properly they would not have had the "next year" grammatical error.

I do like Red Dwarf a lot though...

It's just an awkward construction, not a grammatical error:, posted on June 30, 2012 at 17:28:48

Just move "next year" to right after "duets." Regards,

If they are, I sure hope it's hot where Mikey is. Real hot.
