The Duet won't do anything to cure hum. That's why they have the Humbuster. The Humbuster removes DC from the line, which can cause hum, but note that some hum is normal. My amps have a very slight hum, but I checked the line for DC voltage and it was so low the Humbuster wouldn't have really helped. You can try one for 30 days to see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks. Using the method described by Paul and Fluke meter, the DC between L and N is 24mV. But the is also a difference between N and E of 1.6V. So would Humbuster work?

24mv is probably not enough to make a significant hum. The HB would eliminate this 24mv DC but I am unconvinced, in this case, that the hum is due to DC so the HB probably won't help much.

Dear Paul,

I have tried the DIY version with some success and I will probably buy the humbuster. I am in Hong Kong and contacted Radar, but they say that it is not available in Hong Kong and they refuse to give me a date when this will be available. Is that true?

I don't really know. There's no reason they can't get the HB from us and it does work on 230 volt. I'll check with our director of international sales to see if there's perhaps a misunderstanding.
