Hey guys, has anyone heard of this?

http://www.sennheisersoundtour.com

Apparently they're showing off some of their cans, hopefully the HD800's.

Hmmmm, joined 7/15, 2 posts.

Let me guess... You're a Sennheiser rep. ;)

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up, even though the tour is long past being here.

In any case, the simple fact that the demo was done at Best Buy tells me that it's geared toward the average consumer, rather than the pro or part-time musician.

Regarding headphones, the Sony 7509HD is at the top of my list. Christmas is just 5 months away. ;)

Is that the pro version of the V900? The V900 may not be the best choice in Sony headphones... I've never owned the V6 or 7506, but I did have a pair of the V7s. The V900s seem bass-heavy if not muddy, but I can't directly compare them since the V7s died (don't ever lend your best headphones). I don't dislike them enough not to use them, and they've stood up to frequent use, including some traveling. Two co-workers bought V900s after giving mine a listen, FWIW. Sound isolation with the V900 isn't what I'd hoped for, but they are very comfortable to wear for hours at a time. But it's been a bunch of years since I got mine, so maybe Sony has tweaked them.

Bassbin, I've not heard of the v900, so I can't answer your question. The Sony 7509 is fairly new, maybe 2 years old. It and it's older brother, the 750-something are used by many broadcasters and recording engineers as a rugged high quality isolation and reference headphone. (Not implying to take away anything from other fine brands.)

I'm a big fan of Sennheiser products, too. Especially their microphones.

They are much older than two years. I bought mine in 2003. They released them as a fix for the 7506s, which were a little wimpy and zippy.

Can't say I've tried any of their high-end mics, but I've used a couple of the shotguns for filming and totally liked them.

Are you a fan of the headphones as well?
