When I downloaded the latest version of cMP software recently from he link provided by cics, my Norton 360 antivirus software warned me that I was doownloading a Trojan Horse. I ignored the message and continued the download. Norton is continuing to alert me that I have a Trojan Horse installed on my computer.

Anyone else have this experience?

In fact its more like a virus in that it hogs resources and is next to impossible to remove.

Hey DynA,

I hated Norton with a passion and always used Bit defender. But when I went to renew with Bitdefender they had changed so that all you could get is a "suite" of products. Man I just wanted anti-virus.

Then a pc rag talks about how the latest Norton is much improved and one of the best out there. Well, I do the trial, and yes it is much better, and have had it with no issues for the last year. Support has been really good and I only needed it when moving from one pc to the other.

I will probably renew it.

Its that good?

I know what you mean about the suite of tools....I hate that too.

I supposed you already tried AVG and the other usual suspects for free anti-virus.

Do you have any issues with Norton hogging up resources?

I don't know if Norton takes care of all the left over files, and registry entries when you uninstall...if not you may want to try this, it works great...and best of all its free.

I've written both off, mistreatment of customers reaps it's reward.

Yep, My Norton does that too.

But I just moved the file to a thumbdrive for my cmp rig.

Everytime I swap files Norton tries to delete it. I just reinstate it and move one.

It is a non issue IMHO.

Buy Norman instead of Norton. Much better and less expensive, posted on November 6, 2009 at 12:06:35

There is no Trojan.

Have a look here:
Why is there a trojan in cMP?

And here:
cMP - trojan horse?
