I purchased an Ayre QX-5 Twenty that is on the way. Not quite fmak's deal at $14. Looking forward to a long break-in.

about the Russian clock they are using from a Rumanian company. Look it up, and they don't seem to sell digital audio related frequency clocks.

This is when others are using US clocks made where? China?

The clock was specially made for Ayre. If interested, watch the Conversations with Ayre at AudioStream, Charley discusses why he approached the Russian company.

Doesn't tell me anything other than not needing an OCXO. Perhaps the Russians make better crystals?

So, Ayre has abandoned the XO King friend.

If you watched Charley's comments, he discussed the Russian company.

Watching the videos is like watching news at 1/100 normal speed! SC cut crytals is a rather old topic discussed many times in diyhifi.org from several years ago.

OK, they have found a new source. Tent labs started to do this in Holland may be 10 years ago, trying to get better cut of crystals.

But this clock is unique in performance meeting Ayre's requests.

It's in the process of breaking in with continuous play for 2 weeks. I'm getting there.

Mercman, will you be doing your own review on it at Audiostream?
