Finally got the solid state Intel drive working in the Vista computer. All the patches and fixes were beyond me. A computer tech friend took pity and got it all working. To do so Vista gave way to Windows 7.

Have made peace with Jriver 17. Haven't mastered it but can usually make it do my bidding. Running flac thru wasapi event. System sounds very good and works flawlessly.

Now I want to replace the Music streamer dac ( only does 16 bit redbook) and get into high res files. So I have a couple of questions.

1. Is Jriver going to work as it does now or will I have to constantly adjust for different file resolutions? My hope is all the different file sizes will work seamlessly "in the background" and allow enjoying the music.
2. Any changes or hiccups to be aware of?
thanks

Automatic sample rate switching is by and large a property of your hardware.
Using WASAPI with a USB DAC or the onboard audio in general works.
My DAC works up to 24/96 so I set JRiver to output 24 and down sample everything above 96.
