-you hear the difference right away if you are playing the system with volume.

While I am a believer in various modes for elevating and isolating amplifiers from the mechanical or acoustical environment, I don't believe in spending large sums of money to do it. Someone gave me a pair of Sound Anchors amp stands several years ago. Then I bought two butcher blocks from Williams-Sonoma and installed them on top of each of the Sound Anchors stands. These are large enough to accommodate each of my monoblocks. Then I bought some Walker Valid Points to elevate the amps off the butcher blocks. I don't know if this is the greatest possible set-up, and I am not inclined to conduct a comparison test in order to find out. The SRA stuff looks great, though.
