I have experimented with two amplifiers using the very same tubes (4X 6AS7, 6SN7, 12AT7), using the same speakers in the same listening room. One is OTL (15 W/ ch), the other is a novel PP schematic (40 W/ ch) of my invention with automatic compensation of imbalance of bias current. For OTL schematic see the 'Modified Futterman' by cellai and for PP see the parallel DIY forum, where I have been severely attacked for not publishing the novel PP schematic, that is, for not giving away my intellectual property rights! Maybe I will be censored, who knows. There are so many inmates willing to enforce their idea of freedom.....
Apart from the obvious difference in power between the two amplifiers there are no major differences except for the bass. They both can be classified as HI-FI but the bass of OTL sounds deeper, more analytical and realistic.
In conclusion I am fond of both of them and I will continue to listen to both. By the way, where is your recent post where you describe your pleasure to listening to old non OTL amplifiers? I cannot find it anymore.
