I can't admire those who sing with someone else' voice.

Aretha, Billie , Big Mama and Sara, among others, should have grounds to recover damages from the likes of Adele, Amy, Janis, et al.

What a minute! Only one is 1st! So which 3 among Aretha, Billie , Big Mama and Sara are the plagiarists?! -nt , posted on August 28, 2012 at 09:28:08

But vocally, she's another mic singer, not much range, belts into the mic. I wonder how long her voice will last.

Now if you want a singer, here's one . . . .

She does have a good voice, but I find her delivery a bit affected and her interpretation a bit calculated.

I would bet that her performances are close to the same every night.

Just conjecture.

But I do think a few more years of seasoning will give her the real goods. The talent is obvious.

She is good but pushes too hard, she must still learn that less can be more.

She doesn't over sing nearly as badly as some of her contemporaries or recent predecessors but as you say she pushes too much. Her voice is good although I worry about the throat surgery this early in her career. It also seems like singers sometimes pick up bad interpretive habits from vocal coaches teaching them how to protect their voice.
Her material is good but not stellar. The whole singer/songwriter thing asks quite a bit of an artist and the talent in the pop songwriting pool for non-original material or collaborations seems a bit thinner these days than it was in the early to mid 20th C.

This happens to be a trait I've noticed with a lot of recent pop singers........ And a trait *unique* to recent pop singers...........

I hope you're right, but something tells me that's not going to happen.

who cares ? Were Ella,Sassy,Billie,Etta Babes? Not to say Adele is their equal but with the exception of Billie I've seen the others live a number of times and I'd gladly be the oldest member of the audience for a performance like the one Adele gave in the video.

Is the gal in the photo on your post Adelle after Nutrisystem? If so, she's a babe.
