My classical tastes are casual compared to rock, jazz and blues. An office attic find is a 57 Columbia Masterworks-Beethoven #9 Bruno Walter conducting the NY Phil.
Cover little dusty but found the record still sealed.
Is this year of any significance for the NY Phil?
I find the record quite nice and quite. Doesn't pack the punch of later versions on CD but has that nice warm energy to it.

That one's a classic. Bruno Walter routinely conducted the NYP in the 30s, 40s and 50s, both in live performance and on record, but never had the title of music director.
