I signed up with Sling TV when they had an offer for a free Roku stick. The Sling employee said they are out of them and are now giving the less expensive Roku Express which gets all the same stuff\channels but doesn't use a quad core processor. Must be a big response to their massive ad campaign.

Well they sent my request to Roku who fullfils the orders for them and evidently they are out of the Express too. I got a Roku Premier instead in the mail yesterday. Thanks Sling\Roku.

I bought it last year to watch the Bowl Games, then cancelled. Did the same this year.

$20 bucks to see all the CFB games on ESPN, not bad.

The interface, is that the correct term, interface?, is bad, bad, bad. Slow clunky, and, did I say bad? And nothing on any of the other channels I want to watch, PLUS, loaded with commercials.

Right after the Alabama - Clemson game it gets cancelled and I'm back to rented DVDs, PBS, and building stuff.

Sling or Roku? If you are saying Sling was slow via Roku you must have had the Roku Express or a slow Internet connection. The better Roku models have faster processers inside. That's what I got.

Roku is a way to stream tons of shit at 1080p or 4K Ultra for free via the net. You pay once for the device no monthly payment. Google it. They start at $29.

Google it. Tons of free TV, movies and Internet radio for a one time purchase of hardware for between $29-$99. So you can stream about 300K movies, shows and radio free as well subscribe to things like Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime etc. It supports 1080p and 4K Ultra too.

So with Sling, you stream everything? We had a Roku on the living room tv and the one in the bedroom. We replaced the one in the living room with a "smart" tv that streams without any help. Can you get local stations? We like to start the day with local news so we can have an idea if we will freeze cook or flood.

I would love to get just the channels I want and pay less than we do with cable, but our internet is cable, so we couldn't completely cut the cord.

I'm miles from any good over the air. Rabbit ears get a couple of bottom feeder types, no network for instance for football. DC and Baltimore are 75+ miles away so I am going to build an antenna.

I use the Roku to stream and to get Sling and all my other content. I like Pluto TV and a lot of the other nostalgic stuff which are all free. Cheers!
