Mayor, city council, and a bond referendum. Unfortunately the selection is lousy for all. Maybe I should run next go-round. I am sure that my common sense approach to business will translate well to city government :0) Will

They say there's a lite turnout 'cause the polls already picked the winner.

I wish I could bet on football games like that.

claiming that today's voting is some kind of referendum on Obama, I felt compelled to vote against every incumbent on the local water board to demonstrate my disgust with Obama's failure to address the pricing and quality of avodados. Dammit, when I voted for change, I was expecting better guacamole!

Speaking of guacamole, or, more appropriately, guacamole brains, does anyone know what is up with the politicians in North and South Carolina? I know people in both states, and they strike me as being normal and reasonably balanced human beings. What the heck happens to their elected representatives?

You are so right. Since Jesse and Strom left office, things just haven't been the same. :0)

Thank you for thinking of some of us as balanced and normal. :0)

were just a couple of good old boys looking for a good time. ;~) Hey, I think most politicians are crazy anyway, but those from the Carolinas seem to have a unique flavor of crazy. And some of them are pretty good at disguising it! That darned Edwards certainly had me fooled for a few years. I was thinking he was the real deal, and he had to haul off and show the world that his Wee Willy Wonka was running his show.

But never mind me. I am suffering from a bad case of cabin fever.

But the cold, hard reality is that in this country, it does. He knew that. He knew darned good and well.

Witness a certain Tory British Prime Minister's (forgotten his name he was so insignificant a personality) calls to get "back to basics," shortly after which one of his own party was found having died of erotic autoasphyxiation whilst wearing women's lingerie (he was a he).

If it wasn't so tragic it would be hilariously funny...

Too much pork BBQ over the years has pickled their brains I guess.
I assume you mean Virginia Foxx. She seems to love attention.... :-)

Bill, you know good and well there is no such thing as too much pork BBQ. If anything, our pork barrel politicians need to eat more. One can never eat too much from the trough. :0) Will

I thought, since she's a pretty damned good looking woman, if I voted for her, maybe she'd invite me to her office for office pranks.

Ya think?

It could happen.

She did like the slice of bread I gave her.

Voted against the incumbent.

Someone once asked W. C. Fields after an election who he voted for. Fields replied (think of the Fields voice inflection), "Vote for hell; I vote against".

My polling place is directly on my drive home, and based on my experience during the last relatively minor election, I'm sure I will be in & out within minutes.

Bill I cannot think of anything worse than politics other than a botched root canal. A friend of mine bitched so much about local politics that his wife challenged him to run for mayor. He did and won....Wilmington, NC. He says it was like herding cats. He was resoundingly re-elected. His business demeanor went over well with the voters. Will
