Hi,
would this circuit benefit from using one of Kevins CCSs . Also which CCS would be best to use. Thanks, Steve.

If a 47K 2w resistor operates at a reasonable surface temperature, then I would suggest the Compact Cascode CCS. It's good for 3w and sounds really good in this kind of application.

Certainly. Put one in place of the 6n1p 47k plate resistor. Adjust for the desired current through the 6n1p. Few people do not prefer the improvements.

I`m curious however. How does it improve the sound over the standard cathode resistor?

We were actually talking about replacing the plate resistor above the 6N1P. Because the 6N1P is now operating with a nearly ideal load, you will hear more musical clarity from your recordings.
