I have a well filtered 250Vdc supply and I need 150V at 9ma. I am thinking of using a CCS kit followed by a VR150 gas regulator tube. I have never used a current source or a VR tube so I have what might be a silly question. Is making this work as simple as setting the current source to 29ma (20 for the gas regulator + 9 for the circuit)?

Thanks,
Marty

Hi Marty,

That's just what I did in my preamp and for the driver stage in my power amp. Works great.

Thanks John,
I've seen the scheme pop up in a few schematics and I thought It might be an easy way to get a nice quiet supply. Good to hear it is working well for you.
