Has anyone put DX4 or EX4 drivers into the AllFunHorn cabinets? I have used DX3s to good degree but a recent cat attack has left my DX3s pretty banged up. So I am examining the possibilities of upgrading to the DX4 or EX4 drivers (silver coils, 15 ohms).

Any opinions are appreciated.

Mr. Lowther
DX4's if the compression chamber is damped. EX4's if no damping material in the compression chamber.

I've used the DX-4 in the AFH and they sound fine. You don't want to damp a compression chamber. If you want to tame high-mids, use thin dense material; otherwise you might reduce the overall efficiency of the horn...

Personally, I did try thin compressed wool. It was OK but made for a mellower sound. If your amp is not prone to emphasize mids, I would suggest to leave the compression chamber as-is.

My 2 cents...

The EX4's are just about 1/4" too deep to fit in the cabinets properly. Looks like I'll have to build a baffle or shim to mount these bad boys properly.
