Anyone got any favorites beyond the usual suspects of Eno, Fripp, NWW, Haflers, Lustmord, DVOA, Rapoon, Earth, NON, Liles, Boris, Budd, Lull, etc? To give you an idea of what I'm listening to, my last batch of CD's included:

RLW - Tulpas
Z'ev - Headphone Musics
Soundtrack to Eraserhead
Rapoon - Voices of the Dead
Bill Laswell - Invisible Design

Any suggestions for artists or CD's would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've well received by fans of Brian Williams (Lustmord) and Mick Harris (Lull), here's a link to my music website which will take you to archive.org, or virb. My self titled blacklab is the drone dark ambient album.

Also check out

Coldspring records in th UK
Coldmeat Industry records in Sweden

Both have web shops, I usually spend $300 every now and then getting random stuff and haven't been let down.

Cheers!

Found some great stuff in your lists! The Alva Noto and Yui Onodera seem right up my alley. I'll check the rest out later today. Thanks again!

If you liked the Onodera, you might like the collaboration disc he made titled Yui Onodera And The Beautiful Schizophonic.
A sample is at the link below.

I just found Yui Onodera's "Entropy" and Yui Onodera And The Beautiful Schizophonic's "Radiance" at an online store called Floor Sugar. They carry experimental music and sound from Asia. Info at link below.

IS that good enough?

There is quite an amount of fascinating Japanese music appearing, some of it actually very good <;-)>
The hardest part is getting to hear it...

But my reason is less virtuous than yours.

I will look to remedying that in the near future.

No problem. I wasn't really expecting a reply. The Yui Onodera & The Beautiful Schizophrenic disc is really good and I'm just getting into Yui Onodera's Entropy. Thanks for the recommendation.

For those in the US interested in Asian Ambient/Electronic music, Floor Sugar is an excellent source. I placed an order for two CD's late on Friday night and received a quick response that they would be shipped the next morning. They were in my mailbox today (Monday). Good service! Link (again) below.

you might like to take one further step and try John Luther Adams, posted on October 13, 2009 at 22:46:50

Don't know any of the recordings you've listed but check out some of my recent interests:

Alva Noto - "Xerrox Vol.1 & 2" - Found on Amazon. Good stuff! Some of it sounds like static with the sound deconstructed and manipulated. Not to every taste (my wife hates it, but that's OK. To please her I put on Al Green), but it works within the context of the music, some of which is quite beautiful. Truly inspired. The more I listen to this, the more I think I may bestow near-genius status on this guy.

Northerner - "1976" - Electro/Acoustic music released by: http://hibernate-recs.com/hb04-northerner/

Chihei Hatakeyama - "The River" - Released by: http://hibernate-recs.com/chihei-hatakeyama/

Chihei Hatakeyama - "Saunter" - Found on Amazon.

Loscil - "First Narrows" - Found on Amazon.

Leyland Kirby - "Sadly, The Future Is No Longer What It Was" - Found on Amazon.

http://boomkat.com/ is a good place to browse ambient and other interesting music. Do an artist/recording search and check out the reviews. Also check out: http://www.fluid-radio.co.uk/ Lots of interesting music, reviews and streaming audio.

The only one recording of the above I've heard in its entirety are the Xerrox pieces. The others I recently ordered based on some sample clips.

Hope this is helpful and let us know if you find any gems.

Yui Onodera:

Or if you want something "prettier", how about Yasushi Yoshida:
