Hi,
New to the forum.
I have a recently restored MX110 and MC240 tube setup in my upstairs and was wondering what the best matching turntable would be in your opinion, currently I have a Thorens TD125. Works well but I have another use for it if there us a better match in sound quality and vintage.

Current speakers are Klipsch RF7s but hoping to one day fine a pair of Swan Batons.

Thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
AC

Welcome. As you are new I would just mention that you would probably get more responses to your query from the dedicated AA vinyl forum. This is just advice for your future reference. However please don't now post this particular query over there as double postings are not allowed under AA's rules.

Best of luck with your search for the ideal 'table.

At 85db sensitivity and an impedance below 4 ohms, IMHO the batons are a bad match for the Mac...., posted on January 7, 2017 at 18:12:54
the Klipschorn should work much better.

The 125 with a excellent arm and cartridge would be a great choice.

You are better off selling the McIntosh pieces, posted on January 8, 2017 at 07:08:25

I ran these models for several years on Klipschorns. Realized there is much, much better sound out there for a lot less money. Unless you are having a love affair with McIntosh you are better off selling as these bring very high prices. As for a matching turntable I am guessing you are looking for the same period piece which would be a Thorens TD-124. The McIntosh pieces do have a very high 'cool' factor though and I understand the affection.

Yes, the Thorens TD124 is the match for this pair, and there is a beauty on eBay right now for a mere two thousand bucks (no affiliation with seller, etc.)

I remember I sold a Beautiful Micro Seiki to a customer with a Mc tuner pre, and Power amp.
