Hi,

The binding post on my speaker (WBT) are getting very tarnished. I wonder what I can use to clean that? I have tried WD40 and alcohol but does not work.

I second Gaig Progold, now called Deoxit D5 (for cleaning) and Deoxit G5 (for preserving the finish). PCX and Take Five Audio carry Caig products.

WD40 has traces of paraffin, over time your binding posts will look and conduct electricity like a surfing board!!

You may want to try a pencil or pen (more abrasive) eraser followed up with a paper towell rubbing. It may not take care of the tarnish, but it does a nice job of cleaning and removing build-up.

The cleaner formerly known as Cramolin, Caig used to sell a red and a blue bottle. Still have mine.

My Bruce Thigpen solid copper posts get the red cleaner, then the blue protectant every few weeks. Highly recommended. Don't forget that use of an eraser, after repeated cleanings over several thousand years, will destroy your expensive posts.
