Need help getting my money back OR PAYPAL SUCKS !!!!
Short story. I got a video screen from mountsandmore.com that I was not happy with so I returned it and got another model from them that I am happy with.

They have had the return for over 2 weeks and still no refund to my Pal pal acc.
Now I contact paypal about this and they say I don't
have buyer protection because the item was not bought on e bay.
What the hell ???
So what good are they (Paypal) if they will not back me up ??
So who do I go after Paypal or mountsandmore ?
How do I do this since they are in Florida and I am in Calif.

Screw you, buddy.

That's pretty much their whole business model.

If you paid on a credit card you can call the CC company and put the transaction into dispute.

But if you had a balance on your paypal, or it came from a bank....tough luck.

I got ripped off by a bogus Audiogon MUSICSELLER for $91.01.

Paypal did absolutely nothing except send me a response that my money is safe when I use Paypal, etc.

As I used my AMEX card to pay, just yesterday (6 weeks later) I received a refund from AMEX after they investigated my dispute.

American Express (no affiliation) is about the most militant of credit cards.

When there is a problem, the buyer is protected.

Paypal is a uselessly convenient method to send and receive money.

Pay pal just flat out sucks! They dink you for fee's upon fee's, they don't employ many American workers, preferrring to farm out the call center and workers to China. When you call or email, you wait forever, then get someone who can't even speak friggin English. I try to use a service called PAYMATE out of Australia. They use workers from their country, they're cheaper, and way friendlier.

After talking with the dealer, go to your credit card company. They will be the most helpful.

Have you talked with someone at mountsandmore.com on the phone?

You know if the company is any size at all it could take a month for the credit to show on your paypal acct.

In fact a good chance they will send you a refund check instead of using Paypal., posted on November 2, 2009 at 17:49:29

If they send you the refund by Paypal it will cost them a fee.

Whoa; wait a minute; the way this is written sounds like you're getting a free screen, posted on November 2, 2009 at 05:47:24

No... because then I could decide what I liked better before sending one back.

It's a trade off: time vs. risk, and depends on the urgency of the need for replacement product, the amount of money at stake, and the reputation of the vendor. Unless one is pursuing "bargains" by frequenting fly-by-night firms, doing what the original poster did is probably the best strategy in most circumstances.

explain the the situation and date, get the name's of those you speak with, If they don't resolve it, than ask to speak with a supervisor and do it all over. Sometimes company's delay issuing the credit, but most will eventually get it right. And of couse you already know, use a CC, even thru pp when buying online. Good luck! 866-506-6868

The fact that you managed to contact Paypal with a problem probably puts you ahead of most.

> So who do I go after Paypal or mountsandmore ?

You charge back via your credit card company. This is what credit cards are for. The credit card company is not going to like Paypal being involved so you will probably have to be firm.

Indeed.

I have never put myself in your position but I would expect the seller to probably be a more likely option since Paypal is in the middle.
