Hum gets louder as volume increase in PAS2

 What would the problem be if hum gets louder as volume increase (past 10 o'clock) in a Dynaco PAS2. Thanks.

 Grounding issue.

Try removing _all_ inputs and then placing a shorting plugs in _one_ of the input pairs (for example AM-FM). Do you still have the hum? If so the ground issue is inside the preamp. If not, you have an interconnect grounding problem (or a ground loop)
