My Magnavox 745 won't stop skipping. I've been advised to clean the lens and clean/lube the rails.
Opening the unit, I'm confronted with a black plastic case. Almost nothing is visible. Undoing every screw in sight still doesn't permit access.

How are this player's mechanicals accessed? Turn it over and go in through the bottom?

The problem is either a dying laser or the player was dropped in shipping......... Either way, the laser mechanism would need to be replaced.

I don't know if you own a stock or modified player, but I do know Don Allen in Phoenix modifies these players, and he'd be able to replace the mechanism, if you are unable to find someone to repair it locally.
