Looking for a good/cheap brand, for non-critical recording (for non hi-fi
friends), and a really good brand for critical listening, though I doubt
I could hear the difference, but I'll feel better about it :)

Recorders used are Harmon Kardon and an RCA.

Thanks!

A friend of mine sent me some copies of CD's that he recorded on Maxell CD-R's. To my ears they sounded exceptionally good.

Yes, I've heard the blacks are best, but I
don't see black avail. there in a CD-R MUSIC/AUDIO
version.

Also, would white top sound better than silver?

Maxell's at the top of that list as far as defective CD ratio & disc deterioration goes.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)
