 In the August issue Manufacturers' Comments Section there is a letter from Ortofon warning potential buyers about gray/black market Ortofon cartridges. In the same issue, Mikey reviews an expensive cartridge from a new company headed by an ex-Ortofon exec that purports to use Ortofon intellectual property and was supplied in an Ortofon box.
Is this just coincidence?

 at first i thought that the letter was referring to the ex ortofon guy but after completing the letter, i am sure it's not. it's just a co-inky-dink.

I think, it is very remarkable when a Manufacturer warns potential customers not to buy "his" cartridges.
