Hi, I would like to check with Synergistic Research cables owners the following:
1) How does one determine if the effects of active shielding are running. At the moment one of the LED lights on my speaker cable is out.

2) Can these active cables be used interchangably with MPC's of 120v and 230v. I am currently using the UK standard of 230v and would like to consider purchasing from Audiogon for example and cable sold are mostly US 120v cables.

Thanks for looking.

Yes, I think you can just swap out the mini power couplers, on the synergistic research cables for 230 volt versions, although it would be best to check this with synergistic research or the synergistic research distributor in singapore. If you are using the UK 230 volt standard its worth noting that the 230 volt min power couplers usually have 2 pin euro plugs on them and not UK plugs, so you may need an adaptor to plug it in to a UK socket.

Not sure on the 120 vs 230v... but LED out = no active shielding, posted on October 23, 2009 at 14:22:22

if the LED is not lit then the active shielding is not working. That's why the LED is there.
