since i am very impressed how beautiful my prometheus reproduce the sound stage at the "sweet spot" and as i can not deny the very well spatial reproduction of the omni-directional speakers which the sweet spot is extended to almost entire listing room, i am very curious and wondering how could sound a combination of a "dipole" and "omni-directional" concept.

this is why i made a draft for my omni-directional-prometheus :-) and would like to test it.
has anybody tried that before?

you are welcome to comment the draft, build it, modify, optimize the shapes and dimensions and share your experiences and results.
i think the prototype can be done relatively cheap; the stand can be a plastic pipe/tube. the cone(s) has not to be made of wood; it can be made of cardboard and get filled with plaster or other solid materials.

any other ideas?
looking forward for your comments and suggestions

i have already built and tested the first prototypes.
as expected, the spatial reproduction of the sound stage is impressive, however, an unwanted typical horn related sound coloration due to the cones can be heard. furthermore , the overall efficiency is reduced and the high frequency level is decreased. i can deal with some negative aspects of these omni-directional speakers, especially , because the resolution is still ok, but the sound coloration has to be corrected. if i have time i will experiment with the shape of the deflectors (cones) and tune the distances to the drivers. i am convinced that the coloration can be widely managed, since there are many reasonable omni-directional speakers available in the market, but considering my limited knowledge in building speakers and my available time as well as absence of a workshop, i am afraid that it takes me longer to do that :-) .
i will keep you informed about the progress if any ;-)

cheers
