Yo Audio Noters,

Is the tube stage in the DAC 2.0 kit a true gain stage or buffered gain stage?

I'm a vintage tube guy but am desperate to improve the sound of my redbook cd's and non-sampling tube DACs seem to make a lot of sense to me.

I'm tempted by the DAC 2.0 kit and the Elekit CD player. Need to pick one and make it happen. I already own a substantial collection of NOS 12au7 but don't own any 6922 and don't really want to buy any, given inflated prices, so I'm not interested in the Nixon dac.

Dear Vintage Tube Man -
Yes the 12AU7 stage is a gain stage (10x) for a 2.0v RMS output - Email me at Audionotekits@rogers.com and I can give you some other ideas/configurations on how to achieve your goal!
