Hello,
I would need help for understanding the role of the coils with ferrite cores visible in the accompanying picture of the Hovland Stratos monoblock
Probably they are used for noise suppression...

Moreover, I would appreciate if someone would give details on the circuit: this object is considered, indeed, as an absolute reference for music reproduction despite of the fact it does not use valves but, apparently, only standard TO3 transistors in the final stage, and Jfets in the input stage (as in the Hovland Radia model)...
It would be surprising that a similar circuit would outperform a good OTL amp (e.g. ATMA) used in bi-amp driving mode in the medium/high frequency range of speakers like B&W D2 or D3 Diamond series.
Did someone have experience with this object (listening/circuit)?

Many thanks!
Roberto
