I have a system consisting of INT AMP + CD player. When playing music, the sound from 1 speaker sometimes disappears. At other times, a scratching noise is generated followed by silence. At first, I thought this was due to defective CDs but that turned out not to be case. When I adjust the volume control on the amp, the problem goes away (i.e. when I turn the volume way up and then turn it back down). I also suspected this was a problem with the CD player but had that examined and it was fine. I now suspect the Amp is the problem, especially as turning the volume knob makes the problem go away. Any view on whether the amp is the problem here? |

If it has one, clean it (or replace it). I have seen this problem with NAD, even with new amplifiers. |
