Amp for original Virgos

 I'm in the market for a new amp for my original Virgos. I want to replace a Soundcraftsman ss. amp. I have the BC 3000 tube pre-amp. I don't know if i should go tube or ss. monos or single unit? Budget is about 3-4 K. Thanks.

 Friend of mine drives his original Virgos with a Krell integrated amp. Seems to be a good match; Krell biases nonwithstanding.
