I bought some Klipsch Horn speakers a few years back.
I had to take the whole Yamaha DSP A970 Integrated Amplifier stack, consisting of the Integrated Amp, a Yamaha TX 950 Tuner, and some 5 disc CD/Laser Disc Player Combo Player, with the speakers.
The Audiophile died, and his kids wanted it ALL gone.
I only bought the Yamaha stuff to get the Horns.

I sold the horns, and the Yamaha stuff was just lying around.
One day, in a power surge common to Tampa where I live, my Amp/Preamp combo was damaged.

I have many pairs of speakers, but I had the B&W Matrix 801 series 2 in my system at the time.
Just for the Funk of it, and desperate for music, I threw the Yamaha DSP A970 Integrated in the system, not expecting much.
I wondered IF the Yamaha Integrated would even DRIVE the current hungry 801's ?
Well, let me tell you, not only did it drive them, it made them sound wonderful.
Believe me, the B&W Tweeter will tell you instantly if your amp sounds like chit ?
Highs were ultra smooth, and w/o fatigue.
Image was a LITTLE closed in, compared to all tube stuff, but just a little.

Guys, I gotta tell you, this little bastard sounds like Music.

The Yamaha DSP A 970 is an older Integrated Amplifier, one of the first with Yamaha DSP.

Don't really care much about that, and never had the DSP channels even hooked up.

These things pop up used from time to time, and cheap too!

It sounds anything but "Japanese"

British is how I would describe the sound, warm, rich, and polite.
Harmonically correct too, with a "listen to it for hours" quality.

I am going to try it on some Polk SRS 2's I own today.

It is pure magic on the Matrix 801's, for what it cost me.
