I'm just about to acquire two Ultimate outlets, and am unsure as to their best use in my system. As a bit of a mains novice, I currently have just standard kettle leads on all my kit, with one more expensive (Living Voice) power lead to my Wadia 6. My other kit includes a Proceed AMP5 and AVP2, a Fujitsu 50" Plasma, an Arcam DV27 DVD Player, a Telewest HD cable box/PVR, and a B&W CDM subwoofer. Oh, and an Infocus 5700 PJ, but that plugs in on the other side of the room.
I have always been advised that power amps can be compromised by mains filters, but understand that the Ultimate outlet may be an exception. In any case I thought perhaps the Wadia 6 and Arcam into one outlet, and the Fujitsu and AVP2 into the other. Does this sound right?
Also, I think the supplied leads to the Outlets are only 1 Meter long, and I really need 2-3 meters to a convenient position. I have a longer kettle lead I can use, and also the Living Voice lead is long enough. Then maybe the supplied leads (which I assume to be a bit better than standard kettle to the Wadia and AVP2.
Hope this all makes sense, and look forward to any advice

"I thought perhaps the Wadia 6 and Arcam into one outlet, and the Fujitsu and AVP2 into the other. Does this sound right?" Actually, this sounds like a reasonable starting point and probably exactly what I would have recommended for - as I said - a starting point. Once you've ste everything up, take some time to experiment a little - the UO can be quite nice on a TV as well. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your assistance. I tried a few alternatives, and have found the best results are with one UO on my WAdia 6 and Proceed AVP2, and the other dedicated to my Proceed AMP5. The former seems to offer lower noisefloor and more detail, whilst the latter gives extra bass weight and control.
I'm just about to pick up an Xstream plus power cord. Where do you think this would be best employed. Perhaps from wall socket to UO feeding my amp, or from UO to Wadia? Finally, if I wanted to get a duet, and switch one UO to use on my Plasma and DVD, are they available with UK sockets, and if so, where?

Unfortunately they are not yet available with UK sockets but we're working on it. Perhaps the first quarter of next year.
