Yesterday Chris Redmond, Sordiman and other trolls chased away MC-SACDs and I thought a lot about it overnight and MC-SACDs was correct in his reasons to leave. As of today I am leaving not only the Hi-Rez Highway but the entire Audio Asylum as I do not want to interact with any of these Internet bullies anymore.
I cannot get the moderators involved every time, although Chris Garrett is usually quite helpful. But when I use the moderators these bullies claim I am trying to control content and crush any discussion. Their latest tactic is to misrepresent what I say, and to accuse me of things I do not and would never do. I have no choice but to respond in an attempt to clarify and save my well earned reputation.
To Hiro I am sorry I am leaving too as that leaves you as the only remaining vocal opponent of the pro-CD trolls, agitators and anti-SACD propagandists. Hopefully once I am gone perhaps others will rise up and finally reveal these invaders for what they truly are.
Happy Listening,
Teresa
..but guys, we are a dying breed. Why the hell kill each other over formats. Just damn enjoy your music and live for it!!
And Stephen is starting to close her threads. Thank God! The woman is deaf, dumb, and blind.
I was just following the explosive degree of whineing and arguing and resultant deleting.
Amazing that even here she cant let it rest.
Maybe she should get a permanent ban and leave the rest of us alone.
She certainly isnt good for any forum. Even the Whiners one!

"Thank God! The woman is deaf, dumb, and blind."
But she sure plays a mean pin-ball!
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
A sensible approach to that rather painful DSD fanatic.
It seems SACD.net is populated with SACD fans, and classical music listeners and they too cannot stand her illogical nonsense.
Maybe she needs to be banned from all music sites. :)
navman
she can delete all of her archived posts, eliminating the web trail of previous comments. That way there's no evidence of her years of contradictory statements.
Until we meet again, Teresa.

"dammit"
navman
She can't even delete a non-archived post if there is a reply to it and we all know that that's generally the case 100% of the time, replies being made to Teresa's posts.
Chris

Almost a certainty...

"dammit"
"That way there's no evidence of her years of contradictory statements."
I doubt she'll do that, because Teresa is unable to see her contradictions and if she does, she never admits them.
She'll want to keep the archives because she'll cherry pick old posts which to her prove she never makes contradictions.
No surprise though that everyone is taking it for granted, she'll be back with the predictable "I love SACD too much to leave this forum in the hands of CD-loving, SACD bashing TROLLS!!!!"
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
Yep, the sad part is that she will be back.
Hopefully she sticks to her blog and starts her own forum and leaves this place in peace.
navman
Teresa, sorry to see you go. Hate for anyone to leave the forum. Still carry your sacd list in my wallet. Every once in a while I get lucky & find a disc. Enjoy the music.
thanks

That way, when you come back (as you no doubt will) you won't be perceived as being even flakier than you already are - if that's possible.
I was an early and enthusiastic SACD supporter, but I realize that the format is dead and in most cases was little better than well-done redbook CD. The only exception I would make is that multichannel recordings of orchestral performances are clearly superior. Not a lot for the erstwhile mainstream format to hang its hat on.
I don't think this board should be run as a "fanboy" site. If that's what you want it to be, then despite your passion and contributions it is probably better off without you.
can't say I will miss you.
why hog the good news?
:)
Everything matters, don't forget to tweak your placebos!
and I am sure many others will celebrate too.

Since you are already wounded and hurting, I will not "pile on" with a cheap shot as so many others here seem eager to do. You are too easy a target. I doubt that you will, but I really hope you can learn something from this experience. Please note that the rhetoric was never "anti-SACD"; it was always anti-Teresa, and rightfully so. Your own actions and attitude bring out the worst in bullies such as Chris R and sordidman. Both are wise asses who consider themselves far more clever than they really are. I can't recall either one contributing anything useful to this forum, as they seem to derive all their enjoyment from cruelly poking at sick things with a stick. (I wonder who their next victim will be, now that you're gone.) At least many of your posts were hilarious, but in a pathetically unintentional way. This last gesture is hysterically melodramatic and delusionally grandiose, and deserves an equally overwrought soundtrack.
Peace,
Tom E
"...as they seem to derive all their enjoyment from cruelly poking at sick things with a stick. (I wonder who their next victim will be, now that you're gone.)"
For some one you begins his post by stating that he will not pile on with 'cheap shots' at Teresa, you do seem to make more derogatory comments in your post about her than myself, Sordidman or any of the other's you accuse of bullying her combined.
"Please note that the rhetoric was never "anti-SACD"; it was always anti-Teresa, and rightfully so."
Let's get this right then because I'm confused and obviously considered myself to be far cleverer than I actually am...
Posting anti-Teresa rhetoric is right and justified, or posting anti-Teresa rhetoric is bullying and akin to poking something sick with stick?
Enlighten me, but please don't expect me to take you as seriously as you do.
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
I think I've read all that you have to say...

This is a hi-rez forum, is it not?

Sometimes I wonder...
I think it's really about winning arguments, being important, and feeling wanted. Teresa just wants to be a big fish somewhere and SACD happens to be a small enough pond.
She used to be easier to tolerate but her ego has grown over the years and now there's too many people who like to play her for sport.
I've been avoiding this place for a while but perhaps now a sense of normality might briefly return (crossed fingers).
She'll be back. It's like blood to a vampire or heroin to an addict. She can't quit. :-)

Your controvertial and extremist attitude and statements where fun this is what made this forum interesting even if nobody took you seriously.
You are the one poster I always read as it guaranteed me a good laugh.
So as I say I will miss your s..t.
keep well, and come back soon.
...the audience sees flailing body parts beyond the stage props and tears give way to hysterical laughter.

Keep your ears honest: Listen to live, unamplified music every week.
"Hopefully once I am gone perhaps others will rise up and finally reveal these invaders for what they truly are."
If this is your idea of leading by example, "others" might simply leave in hope of becoming a SACD martyr too. I would think listening to one's collection is more rewarding than such drama.
for someone who makes such sweeping changes in her current inventory on a periodic basis, it comes as no surprise that you make an absolute change.
perhaps you should look at your narrow opinions and realize you need a softer kinder approach to some things.
when i first listened to miles davis' bitches brew, i thought: "that's CRAP!". but i didnt get rid of it, i put it on the shelf and didnt listen to it for nearly a decade. then i got a dvd of 'elecrtic miles' and figured i needed to listen to bitches again.
i can now see it for what it is, the turnkey to fusion music. the beginning of weather report and more. therein lies the lesson.

I had the same revelation. When I was young, I just didn't GET Miles at all. I really thought he sucked and just didn't understand all the hype at all. Later on, upon further listening and studying and so forth, I GOT IT! YAY!
My latest project? I am trying to understand the Dylan hype. Work is still in progress.
empty pool
That's cold. :P
DOH!
sacds were never my fav.I use a tv for internet & home theather.so the multi channel sacds are the only thing I liked.the 2 chanel sacds need special players for more speaker play back. I have the players but Like dvd audio & video better.only the pop & rock titles not on dvd audio were bought on other formats.this site is mainly about classical music & expensive 2 channel players.I dont own that,so this site dont interest me much.I do read the posts.
dvd audio & multichannel sacds rule

But you will have a lot more time to enjoy listening to those silver demons and it's good to have at least a vacation if not a life-style revision once in a while. I've yet to hear the SACD layer on my disks, maybe someday. But I'm confident that they are a good thing and I find it a bit worrisome when folks like you and Ted essentially quit posting. Could it be that they are enjoying their music collection more than arguing with the rest of us?
Doesn't seem likely, but still...

Throwing a hissy fit and then
Teresa spat the dummy!
All The Best
A famous American jurist, Oliver Wendell Holmes, in discussing the concept of freedom of speech once made an critical point. He said in a Supreme Court opinion that it's easy to favor free speech when you are in agreement with the speaker. But the true test, according to Justice Holmes, is whether you are equally ready to embrace "the freedom for the thought we hate".
I hope that both Theresa and her critics will continue to participate in this forum for the benefit of us all.

That's basically who makes up the asylum, Teresa is just a little more out there and I wonder what this forum will have to talk about when she is gone.
But then I liked Romy as well.
Bill.

Or I don't like Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart as they are not good composers, or do I paraphrase? Funny.
She's a good gal, tho. Too serious. And some opinions on gear (remember the Xindak debacle or the only good speakers are Infinity Kappas?) were far out.
You know you need it!
Bye................

. . . without my observations being taken as criticisms? Excellent.

Everybody who dares to disagree with you is a bully, you won't stand for it anymore so you're throwing a hissy fit - fine.Something tells me that now 'Teresa' is leaving, the long absent 'Hiro' will be even more active, before we also see an announcement that 'Teresa' has decided to return because she 'loves SACD so much'.
Anyone who scrolls down the High-Rez Highway can see exactly who is the most aggressive, baiting, opinionated poster in black and white and if you do stay away from this forum I think you'll find that there is zero 'CD-Trolling', zero 'SACD hating' and zero 'bullying' and when this is the case it will be obvious who was the catalyst.
A couple of years back I'd have been sorry to see you go, but in all honesty your posts have become more and more evangelistic and over zealous to the point where all reason has become absent.
If you can't look back at your posts and accept that you maybe went over the top here and there, then it really is time to stop posting on forums altogether.
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
See ya when you come back, which you will. Try to relax and calm down a little. It's not healthy or productive to argue "James Boyk meant this" and "Chris Redmond meant that" and get all frantic and fight for weeks on such trivial matters. And now, yet another melodramatic exit, as though you are leaving your subjects. But we'll be fine. We were fine when you were analog-only. Take it easy.By the way, I dug a little and found your last "final goodbye" from a few years ago. Plus ca change, plus la meme chose.

I'd forgotten all about 2005 but great call.
Teresa states she is leaving for many reasons, and until the Asylum allows only registered posters, because "Its mostly the unofficial unregistered PC police that attack".
Now she's leaving because myself and others have voiced our concerns about unregistered posters, but because one of these posters is an SACD cheer-leader she suddenly decided unregistered posters were just as relevant as those who were registered, and any criticism of them was 'bullying'.
As ever Teresa changes her principles and views to suit herself; look in the dictionary under 'Hypocrite' and there's a picture of Teresa.
Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
Just the usual tantrum.
It would be nice if she'd go for good.
Bet Hiro will be back, and being the more aggressive version, more of the same I would predict.

I thought you owned this forum (just kidding of course). What this world needs are decent advocates with strong beliefs and convictions. What I mean by decent is honest, fair and respectful. Not everyone needs to be an advocate, but the world needs champions dedicated to improving things for others.
I enjoyed your posts when vinyl or analog ruled supreme in your heart. I also favored your support of SACD, even though my interests lie in high resolution but not necessarily SACD.
I believe these forums should be informative and fun, which requires a fair number of people to contribute. Characters are welcome to liven the atmosphere, disrespect and personal attacks are not.
I wish you would change your mind, especially since you are an advocate, contributor and a woman, in a hobby that often has too few females.
Hope you change your mind. I usually looked into the SACD sales you find. Purchased a lot of good music from the links.'
There is too much redbook bashing. 44.1/16 is very capable. I normally buy SACD discs, but the selection is a huge problem.
Since women usually can hear better than men, you may be hearing problems I cannot.
George
SACD and Audio Asylum will certainly survive your departure.

Finally peace and quiet.
She'll be back.
This is just another tantrum.
She thrives on conflict and putting others down. When shes called on her bull#%$% she cries.
This is just another common repeat.
Pathetic.

You probably won't be reading this but anyhow...I don't agree on your view in audio but I do like your music reviews, for instance, the Planet Earth symphony. You don't have to but it is your choice. Too bad.
Don't take it too seriously. Best of luck!
will seek you out no matter where you go. For others your absence will only be noticed by the lack of endless rancorous posts serving audio and music no good end.Good luck.
