Unfortunately, his asking price is more than what most clubs can afford. And Donovan may not be good enough for most of the clubs who can afford him. He does need to move to Europe to improve his game IMHO though he's proven he can thrive against the likes of Spain and Brazil in international play.
The timing of Wahl's book seems interesting. If most of what Donovan said about Beckham is true, this has to make for an extremely awkward situation in the LA locker room upon Beckham's return.
What's even more interesting, I'm not sure AC MIlan (or any other club) will want him back especially after coaching change and the transfer of one of Beckham's supporters (Kaka).
He had a shot with Munich in the spring but didn't show enough that they wanted to keep him.
