Two excerpts from this article...
"More specifically, the debates will cover a ... 'breathtaking array of carbon taxes, transfers of trillions of dollars from wealthy countries to poor ones, and new spending programs to guarantee that populations around the world are protected--from the effects of the very programs the world organization wants to implement."
"According to Russell, the Obama Administration officials have supported this "agenda," which is designed to 'make dramatic and enormously expensive changes in the way that the world does nearly everything—or, as one of the documents puts it, "a fundamental shift in the way we think and act."
Fiqures anything that would require the US transfers of trillions of dollars to other countries Maobama would support. I'll bet destroying the US economy so that it would be on a more equal footing to that of the economy of poorer countries is one change most who voted for Maobama weren't expecting. Won't be much cash left for entitlements after that, will there...

'Socialism' is the buzzword to get rightwingers to wet their pants, I bet ;-)
There is the slight problem that third-world countries are destroying 'our' forests and depleting 'our' fisheries, etc. Something has to be done about this while we use up 'our' oil that happens to be in 'their' backyard.
Oh, my, people dependent upon each other. You can call that socialism. The bugs live in the forest, so they are getting the 'free' handout ;-)
You guys have only been yelling "Socialism!" for 95 years now and you still have asswipes in Congress who claim there are card carrying communists walking the halls of our capital (thanks, dipshit Allen West.)
Wise up.
Y'all love the UN when it helps invade Iraq or Afghanistan, hate it when it bombs Libya, love it when it sanctions Iran, hate it when a Democrat is President, think you own it when a Republican is President.
You guys are like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton (locked in the same body.)
Socialism, fascism, Hitler, Nazi....both sides need to drop the idiotic hyperbole.
They are intent to fix our carbon problem that Al gore told them about i guess. Any thing that works to leverage more control, collect more in fees and taxes is fine in the simulated reality of political issues.
At some point, the word may leak through that the concern really should be the Sun and how it controls our weather. Unfortunately, that doesn't put the blame on us though and doesn't promote guilt.
This is not the first time actual (not political) scientists have reported what they see and it doesn't ring true with the politicians using this issue (our involvement as the cause) for their advancement.
Last year i predicted here that this and next year are predicted to be active solar years and that will cause weird weather and only the disingenuous politicians will try to use weather to scare us into their flock, believing a modern paganism theology which basically says you can undo something you do or should feel guilty about with a sacrifice.
"We did this to ourselves with our and our parents carelessness, but they can save us by us sincerely repenting (but in a modern liberal way) by sacrificing what we enjoy or love".
That guilt factor is used to sell cars too, many high efficiency conventional designs meet or surpass the hybrid cars so far as the pollution required to make and drive them but the ideal of reducing pollution is a more powerful sales / marketing tool than actually marketing the actual impact. Making the Batteries for example also produces a great deal of additional and new pollution etc, yet many drive with swelled heads picturing that they are doing "something special" for the environment, pretty funny.
Feeling like your helping is really important and has partially or largely replaced "lifting a finger" and actually doing something to help. Why get your hands dirty when you can make an empty but visible feel good gesture like wearing an armband etc
A link posted earlier which highlights the urgency of turning control over to those who most eagerly seek to be in charge.

On page 10 of 204 of the U.N.'s report titled " Working Towards a Balanced and Inclusive Green Economy, A United Nations System-Wide Perspective " it says and I quote " Investing in the greening of infrastructure, however, must leverage funding for broader investment needs in developing countries estimated at US $1.0–$1.5 trillion per year, only about half of which has been met. "
Now Norm just do a simple search of that same U.N. report and see how many times the words trillion and trillions come up! Where's all that $$$$ coming from, why developed countries and the more developed your country is, the more they expect your country to give! Strangely enough in typical political double-speak developed is based on terms of how strong your economy is, but rather on some other method is which undoubtly will make the US appear to be the most developed country!
Did you know there are 18 countries with better credit ratings than the USA? You'll find three different rating system's here and each put's the USA's outlook as " negative " for the future...

"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
The Fox/Russel report does list the full report. So what we have is a rightist selective regurgitation of the UN Report. Is it socialist? Do I care? Is all of this convincing? Certainly not.
I provided the complete UN report.............did you even open it?
"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
Yours is different. No I did not read all 200 plus pages. Did you?
but I did verify that it was a UN document
"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
That is all that I suggest. And I would certainly suggest that all partisan perspectives do this.
than that. Sometimes I think, if you had your way, anyone with a perspective right of center would be euthanized. Perhaps you could tone it down a bit??
"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
I'm sorry but I cannot tone that down. Were there to be none of that ilk, I am understanding of why people would like to go back to simpler times and what purposes religion plays for some.
Not to worry. We don't have trillions of dollars to transfer. Take a deep breath and relax. It'll be ok.
-Wendell
Wendell I fully realize the USA alone doesn't have trillions to transfer, but what portion of that trillions the U.N. is speaking of transfering will fall onto the shoulders of US citizens?

Sox
Sox only an ignorant man like youself would consider what the UN says to be drivel... I didn't make it up, I simply posted what the UN proposes should be done and Maobama apparently fully supports by his actions. However because I'm a conservative, in your dull-witted eyes that makes it all drivel?
I cannot imagine another statement you could have made, that could possibly make you look more ignorant! If you choose to keep your head buried deep in the Australian outback sand and believe this cannot possibly happen, please continue to do so, just don't be shocked one day when you pull your head up out of the sand and wake up, then finally realize the world around you has changed for the worse without so much as a whimper from the vast majority of mankind...

... Yet you want to believe there is going to be some huge increase in payments by your country to the UN?
If you are ignorant of the reality today there is no chance of you understanding the possibilities of future events.
It is sad you are so poisoned by your political hatred.
If you wish to believe your congress will allow enormous extra amounts of money to be paid to other countries just because the UN passes a resolution requiring it to do so then you are dumber than a bucket of sand.

I have no doubt of his sincerity.

Thank you Wendell. I know we don't often agree, but it's nice to see you realize I'm sincere and not just trolling or stirring the pot. In all honesty I hope you're right and I'm wrong Wendell. That would make my day, but I see too much falling apart too rapidly to believe I'm the wrong one, but still I can hope you're the who's right and I do...

"Hope is a good thing. Maybe, the best of things. And no good thing ever dies."

Yes to be called a " delusional crank " from a close-minded, liberal like yourself, who keeps his head buried deep out in the hot, Australian outback sand, is a compliment! For "if" you agreed with what I posted it would have to mean I'm starting to think like you do and I pray that day NEVER comes to pass where I sell-out my ideals to that low of a level...

...Why am I closed minded? Is it because I call your delusional, fear-mongering, political partisan based dogma the complete clap trap that it is?
You refer to YOUR president as Maobama and you wonder WHY I call you a crank?
Mate there is no chance you will ever think like me so don’t create any more dramas for your little paranoid brain to cope with.
