Stupid question, but I really don't know the first thing about classical, other than that I've heard other stuff by Stravinsky that I've liked and the names of a few labels.
I found this one today in a bargain bin ($1), filthy but in excellent shape underneath the layer of crud - I need to give it a good cleaning.
Is this a good performance and/or pressing of it?
Thanks!

and you like it, then it is GOOD. critics be dammed. they pan stravinsky's conducting but i find it just fine and interesting in that that is the way HE conducted his own work.
on the subject of stravinsky, pierre boulez is one of the best interpreters of igor's work. look for the columbia releases, especially petrouchka, my fave.
there are both LP and cd releases of the three ballets by boulez. not to be missed.

yep, mono is MG-5xxxx stereo is SR-9xxxx.
Well regarded performance.
I just got a Dinah Washington Unforgettable yesterday for $1 (those popular genre records are SR-6xxxx). It was NM cover and LP. Haven't cleaned yet, of course.
Pic is from current ebay auction.

Nice find!
It's a matter of taste of course, but yeah, I'd say you've got a keeper.
...Anything by Dorati on Mercury "Living Presence" is a treasure; whether you like the Firebird will depend only on you. There aren't too many readily available labels that can come close.
